Environmental Response & Remediation
The following serves as the final report detailing environmental cleanup and remediation
activities for the incident that occurred at the above referenced location on November 09 , 2024.
Please see the site map attached in Appendix 1.
Incident Background:
On November 09 , 2024 , at 2230 ET , approximately 30 gallons of diesel fuel released from the
punctured reefer tank due to a road debris strike. The released fuel impacted the concrete lot at
the above referenced location . No soil , drains or waterways were reported impacted by this
release .
Emergency Response:
On November 10 , 2024, at 1223 ET, J.B. Hunt retained Emergency Response and Training
Solutions (ERTS) to complete regulatory reporting . Bullocks Towing of Salt Lake City, UT was
dispatched to conduct cleanup operations.

On November I 0, 2024 , at 1244 ET , ERTS notified the Utah Department of Environmental
Quality of the release. Chris B recei ved the call and issued reference number 19378.
Corrective Action:
On No vember 09 , 2024 , Bullocks Towing remediated the area by placing granular ab sorbents on
the spill. The absorbents were containerized, and the area was rinsed with a gentle detergent. The
detergent and rinse water were absorbed and containerized in the same 55-gallon steel drum .
Photos provided by Bullocks Towing are attached in Appendix 2.
Waste Disposal:
The waste wa s confirmed to be left onsite by Bullocks Towing. The Costco terminal states they
would not have let thi s waste stay onsite. The status of the one 55-gallon drum of non-h azardous ,
non-RCRA regulated drum of die sel impacted granular absorbents remain s unknown , despite all
good-faith efforts to locate it.
Conclusion and Recommendations:
The release ha s been completely remediated and no evidence was found that suggests any
significant environmental impact remains on the site . ERTS suggests that this project be closed,
and no further remedial action be taken .
