The development will include a private low-density residential community with private recreational amenities. The development is zoned as a Resort Special District and approved for up to 750 equivalent residential connections. The residential and commercial developments and associated infrastructure are being developed in phases beginning in mid-2020. As services are installed to various customers, UDEQ backflow prevention guidelines will be followed. The proposed project is to construct a 300,000-gallon storage tank on the south end of the development within plat 3C. This tank will be known at WPR as Tank 5. Tank 5 will be filled from a future booster pump station (200gpm) drawing water directly from the culinary distribution system distributed from Tank 4 (ST004) and a designated transmission water line (10-inch). Tank 5 will then distribute water to the southern end of the development through a series of distribution piping and PRVs to keep pressure below 150 psi. Tank 5 and a the future booster pump station became a need to supply proper pressures to lots that are at higher elevations than Tank 4 could provide and were not anticipated when the initial water model was submitted to DDW. WPR wanted resiliancy to the system beyond what an inline booster pump can do, so a tank became the solution. Tank 5 is sized for 1,500 gpm residential fire flow for 2 hours, peaks day demand for 81 ERCs, and additional emergency storage.
