Groundwater measurements and samples were collected from monitoring wells MW-1, MW-3, MW-5, MW-6, MW-7, and MW-8. The wells were sampled using standard measuring, purging, and sampling procedures. Groundwater samples were collected from each monitoring well using a disposable bailer. Each groundwater sample was immediately placed on ice and retained under chain-of-custody documentation until relinquished to the laboratory. Samples were submitted for analysis of MTBE, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, total xylenes, naphthalene (MBTEXN) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) - gasoline range organics (GRO) using EPA Method 8260 and TPH-diesel range organics (DRO) using EPA Method 8015. Some samples were also analyzed for fractionation of TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO. Chemtech-Ford conducted the laboratory analyses. Laboratory reports are attached. A summary of historical groundwater monitoring data including groundwater elevation and laboratory analytical data is presented in Table 1 and a groundwater elevation map is presented as Figure 1. Groundwater elevations decreased an average of 0.88 feet since the last sampling event in October 2023. Groundwater flow was to the southwest on January 27, 2024. TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO concentrations exceed Tier 1 levels at MW-5. All other concentrations in MW-5 and all other monitoring well samples are less than Initial Screening Levels. The contaminant plume appears to be limited to the area immediately around MW-5. Rockwell Solutions recommends that release OFV be evaluated for closure based on the limited extent of contamination and the TPH-GRO and TPH-DRO fractionation results.
