It appears that the proposed RM 23 well would be around the 4268' contour on the potentiometric surface, which is upgradient of the tailings cells. We do approve of the placement of RM-23 at this location, if you need to move it twenty feet or so to the east to be further away from the erosion rills and/or keep it away from future erosion damage that is ok with us as well. We will now draft an official approval letter and get that out as soon as possible. We are roughly 20 feet from the fence to allow the support vehicles to access the rig on the uphill - stable side. Attached please find two kmz locations as alternate well sites. The first is the location of the air monitors, which was discussed as a location for the well. Note that it is roughly the 4268 elevation on the potentiometric surface, nearly identical gradient to the proposed RM 23 site. As an alternative, it may be possible to move north toward the pin labeled "Upgradient Location", which is still inside the fence and would have an elevation in excess of 4270. There appears to be an old road or other disturbance in this area. We may be able to move toward that location or at least half way to around the 4270' contour. Please let us know what you think. Based upon the collar elevations and the anticipated potentiometric surface, it was assumed that the revised well would be drilled to approximately 310' Total Depth to sample the Entrada. In the field, the bore hole has been completed. It was drilled with a 9 7/8” bit and air rotary until 70’, when they switched to foam drilling. They completed the bore hole with a TD of 330' today. Our geologist believes this gets the well sufficiently below the K sandstone and into the Entrada aquifer for the monitoring requirements. The hole will be geophysically logged on Monday, and calls made to determine the best interval to install the 60' of slotted casing, and the well will be completed. The monitoring well is not a great producer at <1 GPM, which according to LaMiya is typical for this aquifer in this area, but should meet the needs for monitoring.
