Dear Mr. Wright:
The Division of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR) received an emailed
correspondence on April 3, 2025, from Compass Minerals (CM) about the subsurface investigation
status and request for an extension for report submittal. CM is requesting the extension because the
extent of subsurface contamination was greater than anticipated, and additional investigation is
necessary.
Under the Subsurface Investigation Reporting and Requirements letter issued by the DERR
on January 7, 2025, the due date for report submittal is April 8, 2025.
The DERR understands that CM wishes to perform additional investigative work taking
place through May 22, 2025, and the report submission by June 9, 2025.
The DERR has reviewed the request and hereby agrees to an extension Subsurface
Investigation Report (SIR). Therefore, the requested SIR is due by June 9, 2025.
