Question Regarding Underground Injection Permit at VCP Site

Hi Deidre,
I reached out a few weeks ago regarding a dewatering permit for a site that I manage under the VCP. I appreciate all of
your help with getting that answered.
I have another question regarding permits. In response to one of our comments, they are now also applying 150 pounds
of Oxygen Release Compound (ORC) to the groundwater to address some petroleum impacts at the site. They plan to
apply it at or below the groundwater table via open excavations (from other soil excavations) and existing monitoring
wells. No injection wells are proposed.
I talked to them about the potential need for a UIC permit and they do not believe they need one. However, I wanted to
follow up with your office first.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts or need any additional information.
Thanks!
Allison

Allison,
Thank you for reaching out. As they are using monitoring wells to distribute ORC to the subsurface, they will need to
submit it for inventory information. Any system that uses wells to emplace remediation material is considered a UIC well
nad needs to be inventoried. If they have any questions, Let them know they can contact me directly.
