This tank was a Norwesco 5,000-gallon storage tank and provides water storage for the homes on your water system. This tank had not received plan approval to be added to the water system, therefore the tank had not been modified with the proper elements of the tank including a proper shoebox access hatch, air vent, and overflow. Due to the deficiency that was added for having this unpermitted tank in service, the tank had to be modified to meet the Division’s construction requirements to resolve this deficiency and receive an after-the-fact approval. Photos documenting that these modifications had been made were received by the Division on December 18, 2024. The Homes Storage Tank is identified as ST002 in the Division’s inventory. We have received the following information for the Homes Storage Tank (ST002): Photos of completion of the Homes Storage Tank modifications including a proper shoebox access hatch that is gasketed and lockable, a proper air vent with screen, and an overflow. A history of satisfactory bacteriological results from the water system as evidence of proper disinfection and flushing. We have determined that all conditions for an after-the-fact approval and operating permit issuance have been met. On this basis, an Operating Permit for the Homes Storage Tankis hereby issued as constituted by this letter. You may now continue to use the Homes Storage Tank in your water system. Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference. The issuance of this Operating Permit resolves your water system’s deficiency G001 for 50 points related to the Homes Storage Tank (ST002) being an Unapproved Facility in Service.
