Hi All,
I just received the attached report from UDOT which states that, during a recent fuel spill on April 12th 2023 in Mountain Green, fuel
contaminated snow was hauled to Recycled Earth. I am not sure if it was brought to the Recycled Earth property on the northwest side
of Midland Drive or the southeast property, but I wanted to share the information with WMRC and DWQ because I do not believe that
either Recycled Earth property is set up to properly dispose of fuel contaminated materials.
Eric and Carl, can you please forward this information on to anyone else in DWQ that needs to be notified?
Thank you,
Heather Wadman

On April 12, 2023, A Plus Environmental LLC, was called by Billy from Cedar
Point Trucking to respond to the scene of an accident that involved the settle tanks being
ruptured after hitting an object in the roadway. A Plus Environmental LLC responded to
the Mountain green rest area on I-84 to find that that a semi-tractor had struck something
on the interstate creating a hole in the driver’s side saddle tank. While at the rest area the
tank continued to leak fuel in the parking lot fuel running under a snowbank and down
the gutter. Fire department crews stopped it from reaching the drain and going into the
Weber River. Estimates of the amount lost are around 100 gallons.
A Plus Response Team used a backhoe to remove contaminated snow from the
parking lot placing it in a dump truck to be hauled to Recycled Earth in Ogden for proper
disposal. The Team then used a fuel pump to remove any fuel remaining in the tank as
well as removing the fuel from the containment pools that were placed under the saddle
tank. Fifteen bags of Floor-dry were used to clean up the parking. Booms and pads were
placed around the drain to ensure the fuel didn’t get into the river after 24 hours they
were also removed and disposed of at the same location.
