Hi everyone,
Thank you for meeting with Bill and me yesterday to discuss The Other Side Village Phase 2.
To recap, the goal of the meeting was to compare notes from the March 27 site visit and express some of
our initial thoughts on the draft site characterization work plan (SCW). Our biggest priority remains getting
the Voluntary Cleanup Agreement signed, as we are limited in our reviews until the agreement is executed.
Key items discussed:
Verification of the VCP boundary with respect to the SCW.
Northern portion of the site, which has been used by the City to store mulch, tree limbs, and other
materials.
With respect to the SCW,
The current proposal does not characterize the hummocks (unknown piles on the northern
portion of the site).
We propose surface water samples to evaluate the surface water pathway, especially since
water was observed in the north ditch.
More sample locations for Phase II are needed, as the site is approximately 3x the size of
Phase I but appears to have less than half the total number of samples. Phase I is a good
model.
QAPP (indicated the document from Phase I could be used with updates to make it compatible for
Phase 2).
Updates to the community web page regarding future work at Phase 2 would be helpful.
I plan to meet with SLC and others at Public Works on Wednesday at 8 a.m. to start identifying piles that are
known to be yard waste and can be removed.
