COX Governor DIEDRE HENDERSON Lieutenant Governor Department of Environmental Quality Tim Davis Executive Director DIVISION OF DRINKING WATER Nathan Lunstad, Ph.D., P.E. Director March 14, 2025 Thomas Isom Erda Acres Water Co PO BOX 11 Tooele, UT 84071 Subject: Notice of Decreased Monitoring for Erda Acres Water Co; UTAH23053 Thomas Isom: This letter serves as notification that quarterly monitoring for nitrate is no longer required at the Sampling Station – 02 03 (identified as SS255). Sampling Station – 02 03 (SS255) is a sampling point which represents the combined flows of Well #2 Nelson (WS002) and Well #3 Campbell (WS003). A nitrate sample is now annually. The next nitrate sample from the Sampling Station – 02 03 (SS255) is due sometime between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025. Sampling Station – 02 03 (SS255) was placed on a quarterly nitrate monitoring schedule in April 2018 after a concern was identified in the source protection plan update at that time. Erda Acres Water Co has since collected seven years of quarterly nitrate samples. The results of these samples show consistent nitrate concentrations ranging from 3 to 4mg/L. Based on this, the Sampling Station – 02 03 (SS255) qualifies for reduced nitrate monitoring under R309-205-5. The updated monitoring requirements for the Sampling Station – 02 03 (SS255) are given below. An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the water monitoring section.
