John Warner Eden Waterworks System 5402 E 2200 N Eden, UT 84310
Subject: Notice of Decreased Monitoring for Eden Waterworks System; UTAH29005
John Warner:
This letter serves as notification that the routine monitoring requirements for the Burnett Springs
(identified as WS001) and the Reservoir Well (WS002) have been updated following a review of the system flow and a conversation with Tohm Sumners on February 11, 2025. The updated monitoring requirements for this water system are given below.
Pursuant to R309-205, if a system draws water from more than one source and the sources are
combined before distribution, the system shall sample at an entry point to the distribution system during periods of normal operating conditions. It is the Division of Drinking Waters (the Division) understanding that due to arsenic levels above the maximum contaminant level (MCL) in the Reservoir Well (WS002), the Reservoir Well (WS002) is blended with the Burnett Springs
(WS001) upstream of the Halderman Tank (ST003) at the Burnett Springs Gas Chlorinator
(TP003). The Division issued approval for this arsenic blending and MCL compliance strategy on December 21, 2020. Because both sources are combined upstream of any service connections, the chemical samples required under R309-205 shall be collected at the Burnett Springs Gas Chlorinator (TP003).
Monthly arsenic samples are still required during each month the Reservoir Well (WS001) supplies water to the distribution system. The operating period for the Reservoir Well (WS001) is currently listed as June 01 – September 30.
An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the water
monitoring section.

PFAS Information and Resources The EPA rule for PFAS requires that either method 533 or 537.1 version 2 are used for testing. Please ensure that the chosen laboratory processes PFAS samples using one of these methods. Additionally, the Division has resources to assist water systems in completing the PFAS initial monitoring requirements. For more information on the resources the division can provide related to
PFAS initial monitoring please visit ddwpfas.utah.gov. For PFAS related questions, please contact John Steffan at jtsteffan@utah.gov or (385) 499-3926. Thank you for your efforts in maintaining a safe drinking water system. Please contact David Kruse at (385) 566-7789 or dbkruse@utah.gov with any questions regarding the chemical monitoring
requirements for this system. Sincerely,
Mark Berger Monitoring and Standards Section Manager
