On 3/24/25, Foothill water users association collected a water samplefrom the distribution system which came back as total coliform positive and E. coli positive. Follow up/repeat samples were taken on3/25/25which confirmed there is coliform and E. coli in the distribution system as all the samples came back positive for both coliform andE. coli. The Well sample has come back negative for E. coli which means that the E. coli contamination has likely come from the exposed openings in the tank. The sample has come back as negative for coliform which shows us as expected that our issue is with the tank.  What is being done? Foothills Water Users Association is continuing the work in progressing the grant/loan that we have been given from the Division of Drinking water. One priority as part of this work is to replace the tank and ensure safe drinking water for the community. We will also be chlorinating the system to try and eliminate as much of the bacterial contamination as possible. The system will be under a boil order until the tank is replaced and achievesthree consecutive clear samples. What should the consumer do?  DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. E. coli are bacteria whose presence indicates that the water may be contaminated with human or animal wastes. Microbes in these wastes can cause diarrhea, cramps, nausea, headaches, or other symptoms. They may pose a special health risk for infants, young children, some of the elderly and people with severely compromised immune systems.   The symptoms above are not caused only by organisms in drinking water. If you experience any of these symptoms and they persist, you may want to seek medical advice. People at increased risk should seek advice about drinking water from their health care providers.   For more information, please contact David Hewett at 435 263 5643 General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of infection by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1(800) 426-4791 Division website: drinkingwater.utah.gov. Please share this information with all the other people who drink this water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly (for example, people in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses). You can do this by posting this notice in a public place or distributing copies by hand or mail.  This notice is being sent to you by Foothill Water Users Association.  Water System ID#: UTAH11099 Date distributed:
