Trail Canyon Residence Consumer,
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR DRINKING WATER
The Trail Canyon Residents Association has a Ground Water Rule Treatment Technique Violation with
the State of Utah Division of Drinking Water
Our water system violated drinking water standards. Even though these were not emergencies, as our
customers, you have a right to know what happened and what we did and are planning to do to correct
these situations.
What happened? What is being done?
We are required to correct significant deficiencies within 120 days of being notified of this deficiency.
Significant deficiencies can be defects in design, operation, or maintenance, or a failure or defects in design,
operation, or maintenance, or a failure or malfunction of the sources, treatment, storage, or distribution
system that the Director determines to be causing, or have potential for causing, the introduction of
contamination into the water delivered to consumers.
On September 3, 2024, the Trail Canyon Residents Association received five significant deficiencies,
which we were notified of on September 5, 2024. We were given 120 days to correct the deficiencies.
Following is a list of each deficiency and the status of the correction.
SS10 – Spring box lacks a gasket for source WS001. The previous gasket was worn and in need of
replacement. This deficiency has since been corrected. A new gasket was installed on March 23, 2025.
SS04 – Spring box overflow lacks no. 4 screen for source WS001. The previous screen was worn and in
need of replacement. This deficiency has since been corrected. A new screen was installed on March 23,
2025.
V009 – Storage tank lid lacks a functioning gasket between the lid and frame for Storage Tank ST002.
The previous gasket was worn and in need of replacement. This deficiency has since been corrected. A
new gasket was installed on March 23, 2025.
V009 – Storage tank lid lacks a functioning gasket between the lid and frame for Storage Tank ST003.
The previous gasket was worn and in need of replacement. This deficiency has since been corrected. A
new gasket was installed on March 23, 2025.
S033 -The Pumping system from the source to the tanks lacks a backup power system for water source
WS00l. We were unable to meet the deadline for correcting this deficiency due to winter weather
limitations and the amount of time and work necessary to be completed. We anticipate resolving this
problem by May 31, 2025. To date there has been no interruption in the pump service as a result of the
loss of power.
What should the consumer do?
• There is nothing you need to do at this time. Although this is not an emergency, as our
customers, you have a right to know the status of your public water system, and what we
are doing to correct this situation.
• You do not need to use an alternative (e.g., bottled) water supply. However, if you
have specific health concerns, consult your doctor.
What does this mean?
This is not an immediate risk. If it had been, you would have been notified immediately.
