Thank you for responding to the Notice of Violation and Compliance Order No. 2408109 (DSHW-2024-008044), sent to you by the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division)
on August 29, 2024, regarding the acceptance and disposal of unpermitted waste and the use of unapproved landfill cells at the Sevier County Sage Flat Class I Landfill (the Facility).
The Division has reviewed your responses, whichdocument the actions taken to rectify the violationsidentified in the Notice of Violation and Compliance Order No. 2408109.
The Division found that the corrective actions identified in your response will resolve the matters addressed inthe Notice of Violation and Compliance Order No. 240810.
The Division will continue to monitorSevier County’s corrective actions, including the County’s application to modify the Facility’s Permit to seek approval of dead animal cells and
other circumstances and issues presented in the Notice of Violation and Compliance Order No. 2408109.Under the Division’s Rules, the corrective actions Sevier County implements to avoid
further noncompliance are expected to be effective and lasting. Your cooperation is appreciated.
