Discrepancy with Shipment 9088-30-0214
Dear Mr. Hansen, EnergySolutions herein provides the Director of the Utah Division of Waste Management and
Radiation Control with 24-hour notification of potential discrepancy from shipment 9088-30-0214.
While performing the Radiological Acceptance Survey on February 17, 2025, a potential leak was observed from an intermodal that arrived via rail. The intermodal was transferred into the Restricted Area. Potential Cs-137 contamination was observed via gamma-spectroscopy of the leaking liquid.
A Condition Report is being generated to track resolution of the discrepancy. An investigation into
this matter has been initiated. Please consider this the required 24-hour notice. Should there be any questions with this notification, please contact me at 801-649-2000.
