Exception to R309-550-7(1) Minimum Separation Requirements for Weber West Transmission Line - AFCU Development, (DS001);
Weber Basin WCD - Central, System #29023, File #16541
Dear Darren Hess:The Division of Drinking Water (the Division) received the plans and specifications for Weber West Transmission Line - AFCU Development from Jesse Moreno, EIT on September
12, 2024. Written review comments were provided on September 26, 2024. The Division received the revised plans and specifications on October 30, 2024. This project has met the conditions
for receiving plan approval.
On October 17, 2024, the Division also received your request and a completed Water/Sewer Separation - Exception Request Form and Water/Sewer Separation - Exception Request Spreadsheetfor
an exception to Rule R309-550-7(1), Separation of Water Mains and Transmission Lines from Sewers and Other Pollution Sources for Weber West Transmission Line - AFCU Development. This
rule states specifically that the horizontal distance between pressure water mains and sanitary sewer lines shall be at least ten feet and that where a main and a sewer line must cross,
the water main shall be at least 18 inches above the sewer line.
Plan Approval
Our understanding of the project is the relocation and upsizing of approximately 1,600 feet on an existing 24-inch diameter water line to 30-inch diameter ductile iron (DIP) water line
to facilitate a land development project. This project will also include necessary connections to the existing system to facilitate a future transmission project along 4800 South. The
project runs from near the intersection of 4800 South 1500 West to Interstate-84.
This approval pertains to construction only. An Operating Permit must be obtained from the Director before Weber West Transmission Line - AFCU Development may be put in service. A checklist
outlining the items required for operating permit issuance is enclosed for your information.Approvals or permits from the local authority or the county may be necessary before beginning
construction of this project. As the project proceeds, a notice of any changes in the approved design, as well as any change affecting the quantity or quality of the delivered water,
must be submitted to the Division. We may also conduct interim and final inspections of this project. Please notify us when actual construction begins so that these inspections can be
scheduled.
This approval must be renewed if construction has not begun or if substantial equipment has not been ordered within one year of the date of this letter.
Exception to R309-550(7)(1) – Minimum Separation Requirements
The minimum separation exception portion of this project was previously approved on October 30, 2024.This exception may be rescinded any time if new evidence indicates that the conditions
of this exception are no longer being met or a public health risk exists due to this exception.
Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference.
If you have any questions regarding this approval, please contact Cameron Draney, P.E., of this
office, at (385) 271-7039, or me at (385) 515-1464.
Sincerely,
Michael Newberry, P.E.
