HomeMy WebLinkAboutDSHW-2025-000061January 2, 2024 Morgan Allen, Environmental Engineer - Waste Coordinator Marathon Salt Lake City Refinery 474 West 900 North Salt Lake City, UT 84103 RE:Acknowledgement of Reportable Spill Follow Up Report for Incident 19402,474 West 900 North, Salt Lake City, Utah 84103 EPA ID UTD000826362 Dear Mr. Allen: The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) Corrective Action Sectionhas received the Reportable Spill of Hazardous Waste Follow Up Report for Incident 19402 (Report) dated December 12, 2024, for the Salt Lake City Refinery located at 474 West 900 North in Salt Lake City, Utah (Site). The Report indicates that approximately 1,959 lbs. (80 barrels) of spent caustic sodium hydroxide was spilt to an earthen tank dike on November 29, 2024. According to the report there were no injuries or threats to the public. The impacted soil has been cleaned up and loaded into a Rolloff box to be transported to a treatment, storage, and disposal facility (TSDF) within the required 90-day period for hazardous waste generation.
