I am responding now! Do you think Conoco is worth going after? I sent a letter to Phillips a couple years ago and they said they had no record of the station. Sorry for the oversight although I vaguely remember maybe discussing this with someone. That someone may have been Kimberlee. Anyway, I don't think Conoco would be worth going aer. The facility likely operated under a Conoco flag like most other facilies at the me. Further, we have no documents such as leases, tles or other evidence of a Conoco ownership. Title histories indicate no ownership on the part of Conoco. All we have are people's memories of a Conoco staon but nothing else as to Conoco's relaon to the site. It seems most likely that the property owners and those running the gas staon were the owners and operators under a Conoco flag. As it stands, it would be difficult to prove Conoco involvement at the site was in the capacity of owner or operator. That being said, if you would like you could send a leer to Conoco saying it is a possible RP and see how it responds. Maybe it will provide further details of its involvement in the site (I doubt it but who knows). The boom line is without more available informaon DERR couldn't go aer Conoco and prevail in an adjudicaon just on informaon the facility had a Conoco flag and the other indicaons are that those owning and running the gas staon were the owner/operators.
