The plan for back up water supply in the event of a power
outage will be taken care of through the recently approved
interconnect between the Mt. Green Subdivision Water
Associaon and the Highlands Water Company. The MGSWA
is holding a special meeng on September 10th the formalize
the interconnect agreement. Once the agreement has
been formalized, MGSWA with sign the contract to have the
interconnect installed. It is ancipated that it will be
completed by early winter. The Highlands Water Company
can provide water from it's 9 springs that gravity feed the
interconnect as well as a backup generator to HWC Well #1.

me.

This is great news.
The plans to construct this project, engineered by Aqua Engineering, were issued Plan Approval on May 21, 2024. You
are good to go to construct the connection. Once it is constructed you will need to request an Operating Permit. The Plan
Approval letter included a checklist of items needed for the Operating Permit. Once I have all the applicable items, I will
issue the permit and you will be good to go to use the connection.

become customers of Highlands Water Company and to dissolve our Water Association. As part of this process we need
to make sure that everything is resolved with the state. Work on the interconnect is planned to start in the next few

Dear Mr. Miller:

The Division of Drinking Water (the Division) received a request for an Operating Permit for the
Canyon View Interconnect project from you. The Division issued Plan Approval for this project
on May 21, 2024.

Our understanding of the project was the construction of a water line connection from Highlands
Water Company (UTAH15005) to your system to serve as an additional water source for
Mountain Green Water Association. The project included a PRV and the abandonment of
Mountain Green Water Association’s only tank, Storage Facility (ST001). The interconnect will
be listed in the Division database as WS002 and is located at the end of the cul-de-sac of
Riverview Circle.

We also understand that this project marks the dissolution of the Mountain Green Water
Association, UTAH15015 as the entire system has been absorbed into the Highlands Water
Company Inc, UTAH15005.

Please maintain a copy of this letter with your permanent records for future reference.
