Jon,
I have just a couple of questions/comments about the chlorination on this project:
1) You mention that sodium hypochlorite will be used. I need to know that this type of sodium hypochlorite is ANSI/NSF
60 certified. The reason I ask is because typically sodium hypochlorite is about 12.5% concentration and what comes in
5.25% concentration is typically bleach, which is not allowed as a disinfectant.
2) Is the Blue-White Flexflow M14-4T peristaltic pump ANS/NSF 61 certified for drinking water use?
3)There should be some method of secondary containment (like a tray, for example) in the event the primary container
leaks.
4) Sodium hypochlorite above 5% strength requires some method of eyewash as described below in red. This should be
described in the project how this will be done but it really can be as simple as an eye wash bottle that is located near the
hypochlorite tank.
i) Emergency Eyewash and Safety Showers.
Emergency eyewash stations and safety showers shall be provided at all hypochlorite installations where
concentrated hypochlorite solutions, containing 5% or greater available chlorine by volume, are handled in
containers greater than 55 gallons. Where hypochlorite solutions are used at remote locations or in
quantities of 55 gallons or less on site, safety showers are not required and alternative emergency
eyewash may be provided
Let me know if you have any questions.

Paul,
I’ve attached the same information I included with the project notification including the drawings, PNF, and chlorinator
plan review checklist. I’ve also filled out the PA information. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
