Good afternoon Dennis,
I am reaching out regarding the System Specific Sizing that was set for Santaquin City in March of 2021. Our three year
time is almost up for Santaquin to have a reset. Do you plan on submitting another engineering study for Santaquin? If not
I can pull the most recent data from Water Rights to calculate the sizing standards.
An update to be aware of, we've changed the policy that no longer requires water systems to use the variability factors
when calculating the standards. However, if you would like to still use one we will include it in the calculations.
Attached are the standards that were set in March 2021 for your reference.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the email and I apologize for taking so long to respond. I was out of town at a conference last week and I am
working on catching up.

As with the March 2021 system specific sizing we will work on putting together an engineering study for this update and
as a part of that study we will take into consideration on whether we will use the variablity factors. I have reached out to
our consultants on getting that study completed over the next few weeks.

After some quick calcs, I will change course regarding the engineering study. Could you please review the current water
usage data and compute our sizing requirements and send me the results for review.

I don’t anticipate anything to far from what we currently are using.

Hi Jon,
Attached is the water use using your data from 2019-2022. One thing to note, your peak day usage increased from
the last time this was set. However, this does not give you any source deficiencies.
System Sizing Update
We've updated our detailed guidance policy in June 2023 and have removed the requirement to use the variability factor.
You can see the new guidance document here: https://documents.deq.utah.gov/drinking-water/engineering/DDW-2018-
011527.pdf. If you would like to use a variability factor to increase your sizing standards please let me know and I can
add one in.

Another thing to note. The legislation only requires us to use at least three years of data so that these can be updated to
reflect conservation measures. The peak days from 2021-2023 are lower than the selected peak of 2020. I can also use
that date range if you choose as well.
