Subject: Request for Water Hauling Permit for Wasatch Peaks Ranch Utility District
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to request a water hauling permit in accordance with UAC R309-550-10 effective June 1, 2024.
Wasatch Peaks Ranch LLC owns and operates an 18-hole golf course within Wasatch Peaks Ranch Utility District,
scheduled to open to their members on June 15, 2024.
Regrettably, unforeseen circumstances, specifically a court-ordered injunction lasting a total of 63 days, has
hindered the installation of permanent water infrastructure originally intended to provide potable drinking water to
our customers. The affected area includes a central building on the course serving as a weather shelter and
restroom for their members. Although guests are not expected to consume water directly from the taps in this
building as bottled water will be readily available, we would prefer a potable water source as an added precaution.
The building is designed to be connected to a permanent distribution main, supplying potable drinking water.
However, due to construction delays related to a 180-foot steel bridge and approximately 3300 feet of distribution
piping, we seek your authorization to obtain a water hauling permit for the 2024 and 2025 golf seasons. The golf
season each year spans from mid-June to mid-October (weather dependent). This permit will enable us to import
potable drinking water to the building, ensuring that the needs o f our customers are met while the permanent
water infrastructure is still under construction.
It is important to note that we anticipate the completion of the water infrastructure to the building fall of 2025. This
timeline aligns with the conclusion of the 2025 golf season. We are committed to ensuring that our customers
have access to safe and clean water throughout this period.
After a comprehensive review of the Utah Division of Drinking Water's Guidance for Hauling Drinking Water, we are
confident in our ability to diligently adhere to all stipulated requirements and guidelines. A fire hydrant connected
to our phase one distribution system located in the south village will be used to fill an approved water truck for
transport. This distribution system is a part of the already permitted water system (UTAH15044).
We acknowledge the importance of compliance with established regulations to ensure the safety and well -being of
our community members. We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and kindly request your approval
for the water hauling permit.
Should further information be required or if you wish to discuss this matter in more detail, I am available for a
meeting or discussion at your earliest convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Nate Bell
