T Allen <tammieallen@utah.gov>Tue, Nov 19, 2024 at 12:30 PM To: Carrie Zenger <czenger@pmwsid.org> Good Morning/Afternoon, In the month of OCTOBER, Your water system did not take a routine total coliform sample. We are missing 1 sample. Please note that submitting through CMDP does not always guarantee that the result has been successfully received. Occasionally, glitches can occur that prevent the result from coming through. To ensure everything is processed correctly, it would be very helpful if you could send over the sample. This will allow me to verify that it is in our system and confirm that it is associated with the correct Water System Number, Name, and Sample Point. If a sample was taken and you do not have a record of said sample, please contact the lab you worked with to get that sample and send it into ddwreports@utah.gov. If applicable: If the Water System was not open during said month, please provide DDW with the month the System Closed. Thanks Mz. Tammie Mz. T Allen" <tammieallen@utah.gov>, czenger@pmwsid.gov Hi Carrie, This system is required to sample 2 per month October through March and 1 per month April through September. We have 1 sample from October instead of the required 2 per month. Looks like these schedules have been the same for several years. We have a transient population of 1,100 and a residual population of 20. This is the population for the entire year. We have this as a year round population count. With this information, this system should actually be sampling 2 per month every month of the year. We will need to send a population change letter with this sampling change. It honestly might be easier to sample this system each month as 2 instead of going back and forth to be honest. 1/8/25, 10:56 AM State of Utah Mail - Missing Bac-T sample(s) for UTAH29028 - Powder Mountain WSID https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=2244d7ea4e&view=pt&search=all&permthid=thread-a:r4027695462287306214&simpl=msg-a:r156001954230440…2/5 Let me know if you have any questions. Sitara and I spoke about this last season, but this should help give it a paper trail. During the off season, there are very few homeowners that stay year round (literally only 4 or 5), and then the resort has a year round crew for summer maintenance. The transient population during peak season when the resort is open is when we see the full 1,100 in use. This season begins in the beginning of November when mountain preparations start, mountain opens beginning of December, and ends on average the 10th of April. The resort isn’t projected to open until Dec. 6th this season. Per our discussion last year, we only have to do the 2 samples a month from November-April. Please let me know if this works for everyone, or if there are adjustments I need to make. Thank you all! 1/8/25, 10:56 AM State of Utah Mail - Missing Bac-T sample(s) for UTAH29028 - Powder Mountain WSID https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=2244d7ea4e&view=pt&search=all&permthid=thread-a:r4027695462287306214&simpl=msg-a:r156001954230440…3/5 Colter Olsen Powder Mountain Water Sewer Improvement District 801-603-0435 System is open year round but the system is not. If you can elaborate for us and then Sitara will follow back up. Thanks so much! We can reevaluate in the future if Powder Mountain Resort decides to do more in the summer. Just want to make sure we are providing all the right numbers, it shouldn't change any sampling requirements. I just reached out to another member of the team to get their input. My plan is to set the population like this: Transient population of 1,100 that is from November through April Residual population of 25 that is year round Let me know your thoughts. Thank you.
