Here are the pictures. You can see the port for a generator to hook up on the outside of the building. We
also have the propane generator inside the building that comes on currently any me the power goes out to
run the large booster pump.
Let me know if you have any ques ons.
Brandon

I just spoke to Brandi Smith at the Division and confirmed that we just need to send a photo of the generator
and the deficiency will be dismissed. If you will reply to this email to Jennifer Yee with the photo attached
that should cover it.
Thanks,
Melanie

Jennifer,
I left you a couple messages, and wanted to let you know I learned the system (Deseret Feedlot Community
System #25044) does have a backup propane generator inside the pump house building, so actually there
is no deficiency.
What do we need to do at this point to dismiss the deficiency? Do you need photos of the generator or
something like that, or do we need someone to come out and re-survey? Please advise.
Many thanks,
Melanie McVicker, P.E.

To request an exception here are the required information:
Requesting an exception
To request an exception, prepare a letter that meets these requirements (a Project Notification Form is not required).
1. A written request, preferably on water system letterhead, from the management of the Public Water
System to the Director of the Division of Drinking Water. Nathan Lunstad is the Director (who the request
should be addressed to).
2. Cite the specific rule to which the exception is being requested. You are requesting an exception for
deficiency S033 - community water system without naturally flowing sources lacks backup power for at least
one water source. The rule this is referencing is R309-515-6(2)(a).
3. Provide a detailed explanation of why the requirements of the rule cannot be met (include drawings if
appropriate).
4. Describe what will be done to meet the intent of the rule in place of meeting the requirements of the rule
(include drawings if appropriate).
5. Provide an alternative to the rule requirements and justification of how it will meet or exceed the public
health requirements of the rule that cannot be met.
Address the written exception request to the Director, Utah Division of Drinking Water, P.O. Box 144830, Salt Lake City,
UT 84114-4830. Submit the request to ddwpnf@utah.gov or mail it to the director at the address provided.
I hope this helps! Thanks so much for reaching out to get this figured out.
