Box 580 Duchesne, UT 84201 RE: Monitoring Well Installation Requirement for theDuchesne/Wasatch Bluebench Landfill Class IVaCell SW114 Dear Mr. Giles: At your request, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) is issuing this letter to the Duchesne/Wasatch Bluebench Landfill addressing the need for the installation of monitoring well(s) directly associated with the proposed Class IVa landfill cell location (DSHW-2024-007895). Per Utah Administrative Code R315-305-4(4)groundwater monitoring is required for Class IVa landfills, cells, or units. Specifically, Utah Admin. Code R315-308-2(2) states the groundwater monitoring system must consist of at least one background or upgradient well and two downgradient wells, installed at appropriate locations and depths below the facility, cell, or unit.
