Dear Mr. Harris:
Re: Compliance Advisory, No Further Action – Brigham Young University – Main Campus –
Boilers #4 and #6 – Condition 11.B.2.c of Approval Order DAQE-AN107900021-23 and
40 CFR 60.46b(f)(1)(iv) – Utah County
On November 15, 2024, the Utah Division of Air Quality (DAQ) sent Brigham Young University
a Compliance Advisory (DAQC-1139-24) for potential violations of the Utah Air Quality Rules.
On December 19, 2024, Brigham Young University submitted additional information that
resolved the potential violations outlined in the Compliance Advisory referenced above. Based on
the additional information provided to the DAQ, no further action is required at this time. Please
be aware that closure of this Compliance Advisory does not constitute a bar to enforcement action
for conditions found during other inspections.
Thank you for your cooperation in resolving this matter. If you have any questions regarding this
letter, please contact me at 385-306-6500 or at cgilgen@utah.gov.
Sincerely,
Chad Gilgen, Manager

Hi Kyle,
Thank you for your patience while we coordinated with our Stack Testing contractor, to determine their availability for
performing BYUs Boiler #4 and #6 stack testing. They are happy to help us and will prepare and submit the required
source testing protocol.
You should shortly be receiving the required source test protocol from TETCO on behalf of BYU, which outlines the
approved EPA methods and procedures to be used for performing these stack tests. We will perform the stack testing the
first week of February 2025.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
