Dear Mr. Robinson:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) has completed its review of the IWM Pinnacle Fuels Secure Storage Landfill Facility – North Cell report (report), received
by the Division on May 24, 2024 (DSHW-2024-006492). Items in the Report include:
Clearing, Grubbing, and Subgrade Preparation;
Embankment Construction;
GCL and HDPE Liner Installation; and
Protective Soil Layer.
The Report contained all necessary information and documentation. All aspects of cell construction appeared to be thoroughly documented. The liner and overall cell construction complies
with all applicable Solid Waste Management Permitting and Management Rules.The Division appreciates the inclusion of construction activity descriptions, maps, drawings, diagrams, density
test procedures and results, liner inspections and repairs, photos, design change details, and liner repair documentationas they proved very useful for the Division’s determination.
Based on review of the Report, the Division accepts the contents of the report and the newly completed cell is approved to accept waste as specified in the landfill’s Permit.
