These delineated protection zones are essential to ensuring the safety and sustainability of our groundwater resources, which serve as a critical drinking water source for our community. The City is committed to enforcing its source protection ordinance within these zones to mitigate potential contamination risks. This ordinance, aligned with both state regulations and local policies, ensures that land use and activities within the protection zones are carefully monitored and managed. The City recognizes that the enforcement of these measures is vital to maintaining the integrity of the water supply and upholding public health and safety standards. To support this commitment, Hyde Park City will integrate this confirmation into the revised DWSP plan submitted to the Division. This documentation will include the finalized zoning map and a formal statement of the City’s ongoing efforts to protect these areas. We remain dedicated to fostering collaboration with state authorities and adhering to all regulatory requirements to achieve this shared goal.
