This project has met the conditions for receiving a plan approval. Our understanding of the project is the construction of a 5-million gallon (MG) post-tensioned concrete tank (identified as Weber South WTP Phase II 5 MG Tank, ST012, in the Division’s database). The tank will replace the existing 4.3 MG WTP tank (ST006) and serve as a parallel tank to the Weber South 5 MG Tank (ST010) tank currently under construction (File #13144). We have completed our review of the plans and specifications, stamped, and signed byJoshua Rex Curtis, P.E., dated December 23, 2024, and find they basically comply with the applicable portions of Utah’s Administrative Rules for Public Drinking Water Systems in R309. On this basis, the plans for Weber South WTP Phase II 5 MG Tank (ST012) are hereby approved. This approval pertains to construction only. An Operating Permit must be obtained from the Director before the storage tank may be put in service. A checklist outlining the items required for operating permit issuance is enclosed for your information.Approvals or permits from the local authority or the county may be necessary before beginning construction of this project. As the project proceeds, notice of any changes in the approved design, as well as any change affecting the quantity or quality of the delivered water, must be submitted to the Division. We may also conduct interim and final inspections of this project. Please notify us when actual construction begins so that these inspections can be scheduled. This approval must be renewed if construction has not begun or if substantial equipment has not been ordered within one year of the date of this letter. Temporary Exception to R309-545-10(1)(d) Drains On November 21, 2022, the Division issued a temporary exception to Rule R309-545-10(1)(d) Drains, for the Weber South WTP 5 MG Tank (ST010) under File #13144. The Weber South WTP 5 MG Tank (ST010) and Weber South WTP Phase II 5 MG Tank (ST012) will share a common drain and overflow line. The temporary exception issued for ST010 under File#13144 will also apply to the Weber South Phase II 5MG Tank (ST012) and share the same conditions and expiration date outlined in the letter dated November 21, 2022. If you have any questions regarding this letter, please contact Julie Cobleigh, P.E., of this office, at (385) 214-9770, or me at (385) 515-1464. Sincerely, Michael Newberry, P.E.
