RE:No Further Action Required for the Piute County Special Service District #1 – Tri-City CD Landfill SW156
Dear Ms. Gleave
On December 15, 2023, the Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division)issued a facility inspection letter (DSHW-2023-211623)requesting proof of training, inclusion of
the number of loads of waste received, weights or estimates of weights or volume of waste received each day in the daily operating record, daily cover of dead animals received and that
notification be given to the Division prior to excavation of any new landfill cells. The Division received a response on March 4, 2024 which addressed most of the concerns. During a
phone conversation on May 21, 2024, you indicated that there are no current plans to excavate a new cell and that if a new cell is needed notification will be given prior to construction.
Based on information in your response letter received on March 4, 2024 and the telephone conversation on May 21, 2024, no further action is required at this time.
If you have any questions, please contact Kelly Shaw at kellyshaw@utah.gov or by phone at (385) 454-5832.
Sincerely,
Brian Speer, Solid Waste Program Manager
Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
