Dear Mr. Wickham, Subject: RTCR Level 2 Assessment Beaver Mountain Winter Sports UTAH03027
I would like to thank you for taking the time to meet with me on September 19th, 2024, for a
Level 2 Assessment (L2) of your water system. Your willingness to accommodate this request is greatly appreciated. Observations:
This site visit was triggered by a Routine TC+ EC+, 2 Repeat TC+EC- samples August 2024. Source Sample was TC-EC- during this incident, this sample location is part of distribution system as Source Well sample tap does not exist. LHD collects Routine sample and system collected repeats and source sample.
System was closed to the public during this sample incident with minimal water usage by a few
employees and contractors. System is adding a large building to the system and has had to connect to the existing water system.
Conclusions:
1. TC + EC + Routine & Repeat TC+ EC- samples could have been caused by sampling error (Frost free hydrant, single handle faucet,), stagnant sample site locations (dead end lines, aged premise plumbing) and water age due to very low usage.
2. Dirty Storage Tanks could also be a cause and should be cleaned and disinfected
periodically . 3. No obvious physical deficiencies were found during this assessment. No sample tap for source WS001 SO23 is already listed on your IPS as a minor deficiency.

Recommendations:
1. Follow RTCR and Ground Water Rule with regards to Repeat sampling and Triggered source sampling following a routine TC+ sample. Contact DDW if not sure on follow up sampling.
2. Follow sanitary sampling protocol of sufficient flushing and disinfection, using a strong
chlorine-based solution (applying, allowing contact time, flushing, sample collection). 3. Conduct a mid-season O & M disinfection and flushing of system, following AWWA C-
651 standards.
4. Installing Chlorination to your water system as part of your upcoming tank and building projects.
5. Contact Rural Water Association of Utah for Further Technical assistance or questions on sampling procedure: Terry Smith 435-691-0691 tsmith@rwau.net
Feel free to contact me at (385) 270-7272 or bpattee@utah.gov, with questions or if we can be of
