Dear Mr. Brown:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control has reviewed the Fall 2023 Post Closure Permit Monitoring Sentinel Well Evaluation (the Evaluation) for the Tooele Army Depot North
Area (TEADN), dated April 29, 2024. The Evaluation notifies the Director that sentinel monitoring well B-42 had a detection of trichloroethene (TCE) equal to or exceeding 1.0 micrograms
per liter (µg/L) for the first time during the Fall 2024 Post Closure Permit Monitoring Event in accordance with the TEADN Part B Permit Condition IX.E.1.a. TEADN will continue semi-annual
monitoring of this well.
The Division has no questions or concerns, and the Evaluation is hereby approved.
