Therefore, the drain-field will be excavated and hauled to a landfill. Additional confirmation samples will be collected after remediation and a letter will be provided to the Division petitioning the Division for a letter of “No Further Action” for SWMU SS-5. However, during the investigation, the extent of contamination was found close to a high-power pole and associated guywire. Remediation at the site will include excavation of soils at the base of both of these structures. Therefore, NGSC is petitioning the Division for a “deferral of work needed” letter allowing SS-5 to remain “as is” until the high-power pole and associated guywire are no longer in use and can be removed.
