Purpose of Site Visit: Meeting to see current site conditions and develop a plan to deal with surface and groundwater during construction. In Attendance: David Jamison (DWQ) Chris Howell DERR, matthew.hendrix@slcgov.com (SWPPP), Catherine Wyffels, greg.archuleta@slcgov.com Nancy Saunders Terracon, Tim Stay, Lew Swain TOSA, tyson.grant@psomas.com Civil engineereing for TOSA Meeting Notes and Site Observations: 9:30 meeting begins and each person introduces themselves. All walk to the north east corner to see the surface water. Still a significant amount of water remaining on site but according to SLC it has gone down 10-12” over the last week. SLC and TOSA propose pumping the water into an impoundment on the asphalt on the south west portion of the site. DWQ is OK with the plan as long as the pond/impoundment is lined. DWQ also requested a new monitoring well be installed down gradient. This well would be added to the Groundwater monitoring plan. DWQ will review and approve the pond design with input from the VCP. Surface and groundwater dewatering permits can be are issued by DWQ and do not need to wait for the VCP RAP public comment period. That way the pond can be constructed (not exposing any soil contamination) and ready when the RAP is approved. SCL is still waiting for a SWPPP from Psomas and will need to be approved prior to starting work. The revised RAP is expected to be sent to the DERR within 1-2 days. DERR will prioritize the RAP for review.
