RE:Waste Tire Removal Bid Approval for Beaver County Class I Landfill
SW089
Dear Mr. Neilsen:
The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (Division) has completed its review of the
bids to remove waste tires from the Beaver County Class I Landfill. The bid submitted by Liberty Tire is acceptable at $260 per ton traveling 55 miles one way between pickup location
and Liberty Tire in Fillmore, UT. With this approval letter, please contact Liberty Tire and the Division with a scheduled start date for this project.
Upon completion of the work, documentation must be submitted to the Division for authorization of
payment, which shall be calculated based on the miles one way between the location of the waste tire pile and the recycler. Invoices and weight tickets from Liberty Tire to show proof
of receipt of the waste tires at the recycler will also be needed. Subsection 19-6-811(7) of the Utah Code requires that the operator of the state or local government landfill or transfer
station shall submit to the Director a statement providing the following:
(a) the number or tons of waste tires removed from the landfill or transfer station;
(b) the location from which the waste tires were removed;
(c) the recycler to which the waste tires were delivered; and
(d) if applicable, the amount charged by a third-party waste tire transporter or recycler to transport the waste tires to the recycler.
Upon receipt of the above information and the determination that the information is complete,
authorization will be given to the Utah Division of Finance to reimburse the waste tire transporter or
recycler.
If you have any questions, please call Bryan Woolf at 385-454-8060.
Sincerely,
Douglas J. Hansen, Director
Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
