Subject: Notice of Increased Monitoring Requirements for Solitude Mountain Ski Area LLC, UTAH18047
Steve Mcintosh: According to the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) records, an antinomy sample was
collected from the Alta Drain Tunnel Spring (identified as WS001) on November 5, 2024. The results of the analysis show antinomy was detected at 0.0146mg/L. This is above the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for antinomy. The MCL for antimony is 0.006mg/L. This result triggers increased monitoring requirements for antimony. An antimony sample is now
required from the Alta Drain Tunnel Spring (WS001) each quarter that Alta Drain Tunnel Spring provides water to the distribution system. Compliance with the antimony MCL is based on the Running Annual Average (RAA) of quarterly samples. After four quarters of sampling, if the average is greater than the MCL, then
the system is out of compliance and public notice pursuant to R309-220 will be required. If any
one sample would cause the annual average to be exceeded (the sample result is four times the MCL), then the system is out of compliance immediately. The updated monitoring requirements for the Alta Drain Tunnel Spring (WS001) is given below.
An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the Water
Monitoring section.
