INCIDENT SUMMARY
Synergy Petroleum (represented by the reporting party) was making a delivery to Bob Shepherd at the listed address. While Synergy Petroleum was
filling his above ground storage tank the entire end of the tank blew off, emptying the entire contents of the tank onto the ground. No secondary
containment was in place at the site. Synergy Petroleum was delivering fuel at a normal rate with a normal pump and truck, and had previously
delivered to the address with no issue. The spill is approximately 1500 gallons of red dye diesel. The diesel went straight to soil, no storm drains or
water ways were impacted by the spill.
The spill migrated down the property driveway and onto an adjacent property at 200 E. Staff on site have built temporary containment for the spill with
soil and an excavator. Chicken Creek is a little over 2000 feet to the south of the spill, and is not anticipated to be impacted.
Clean Harbors has been contracted for clean-up, and clean-up activities are expected to begin tonight.
