Rio Tinto Kennecott Utah Copper LLC (KUC) is submitting this letter in
compliance with Approval Order (AO) number DAQE-ANO103460062-23
and Title V Operating Permit (Title V) Number 3500030004. lncluded
herein is the monthly KUC Smelter monthly report for January 2024.
The following sections present data related to the Holman Boiler, Main
Stack particulate and lead emissions, and Main Stack gas flow.
Holman Boiler
The Holman Boiler 30-day average NOx emissions are measured as
outlined in the most recently approved monitoring plan in accordance with
AO condition ll.B.2.b and Title V condition 11.8.23.b.1. The information
provided in Table 1 is required to be reported monthly.

Notes:* For compliance with data recovery requirements, a minimum of 75% of the
operating hours in each operating day must be achieved in at least 22 of 30
successive operating daYs.
** The planned Holman burner replacement is still ongoing. Once the burner
replacement project is complete, KUC will complete stack testing to determine a
new en limit for the new burner system.

Particulate and lead emissions are measured and calculated in
accordance with the most recently approved monitoring plan. Table 2
summarizes the daily particulate and lead emissions data. The daily main
stack particulate emissions are to be compared with the permit limit of
89.5 lbs/hr as set forth in AO condition ll.B.1.a (H) and Title V condition
ll.B.24.a (i).
Table 3 summarizes the Main Stack particulate and lead emissions
annual data calculations. This includes recovery percentages for
particulate and lead emissions samples and the annual average lead
emissions. The lead annual average emissions are to be compared with
the permit limit of 1.3 lbs/hr as set forth in AO condition ll.B.1.a (H) and
Title V condition 11.8.24.d.

Main Stack Gas Flow
ln accordance with AO condition 11.8.3.a.6, main stack gas flow may be
estimated in the event that temperature and velocity measurements
malfunction. Table 4 summarizes the instances when main stack gas flow
was estimated.

nonth: January 11th and 12th were invalidated due to procedural errors (per
;ection 6.6.3 of the Monitoring Plan). The monthly average value for lead is
substituted on these days for calculating the annual average per the plan.
