Re: Groundwater Quality Discharge Permit Number UGW450005 (GWQDP) – BAT
Concern, SRS DU Storage Building

Dear Mr. Hansen:

On February 15, 2024 the BAT inspector discovered the presence of water in the interior
of the SRS Depleted Uranium (DU) Storage Building. Water did not contact any waste
containers. The Clive Facility received 0.04 inches of measurable precipitation from the
morning of February 15, 2024.

EnergySolutions notified the Director of Waste Management and Radiation Control of
the concern via e-mail on February 15, 2024. This letter provides the required 7-day
written notification.

The BAT inspector removed the water on the same day as the inspection by wiping the
water from the protective plastic.
