This module includes examining the waste placement methods and associated documents to verify that the waste is placed in accordance with established procedures of the Construction Quality Assurance / Quality Control (CQA/QC) manual (Rev. 28c). Files looked at during the inspection included Lift Approval Forms (LAFs), Field Density Test forms and Daily Construction Reports (DCRs). In addition, the inspection also included the field observation of the placement of waste lifts within the CAW Embankment. It should be noted that CCS systems were inspected during the period with satisfactory results. The reviewed paperwork was all in order and EnergySolutions has established some spreadsheets to help track compliance of the various waste lifts. A closeout meeting was held on October 24, 2024, with ES staff to review the inspection results. The 2024 Engineering InspectionModule 3 is considered closed.
