Good morning Steve,
Thank you for your patience since it took me a while to get to this project. I have a few comments that need to be
addressed before issuing the plan approval.
1. The main comment is I can't find any records of us reviewing the 750K Benloch tank. Jordanelle does not even
have a 750k tank on their inventory list. However, in the PNF you mention it is a 500k tank so it could be one of
those and it is labeled separately. Can you tell me which tank on their inventory is referenced in this project or send
me plans or the operating permit for it if not on the inventory?
2. Please confirm the building floor is designed with a slope in order to drain
3. Confirm if the pumps have glands that they do not directly discharge to the floor.
4. Please confirm the peak day demand was evaluated when designing this pump station. I assume so but the
master plan sent to Julie did not contain all the information for this pump station.
5. Suction lines of pump stations require a compound gauge even though it is unlikely that this pump station would
experience a negative pressure on the suction line.
6. Please confirm how standby power will be provided. It is my understanding that this pump station and the 6800
pump station are redundancies for each other, so this may be unnecessary to have in order to ensure con nuous
service.
Let me know if you have any ques ons or concerns.

Hi Steve,
Working on Benloch ranch pump station approval. Can you please answer my original comments on the design?

Dani,
See responses below in RED:
1. The main comment is I can't find any records of us reviewing the 750K Benloch tank.
Jordanelle does not even have a 750k tank on their inventory list. However, in the PNF you
mention it is a 500k tank so it could be one of those and it is labeled separately. Can you tell
me which tank on their inventory is referenced in this project or send me plans or the
operating permit for it if not on the inventory? Tank plans are now submitted under
DDW File 177762
2. Please confirm the building floor is designed with a slope in order to drain. Floor slopes to
trench drain across the base of the pump pedestals and to the lower pipe galley. Drain
pipes then convey are collected water out to drain box outside of the building.
3. Confirm if the pumps have glands that they do not directly discharge to the floor. Yes, this is
the case.
4. Please confirm the peak day demand was evaluated when designing this pump station. I
assume so but the master plan sent to Julie did not contain all the information for this pump
station. Peak day demand was considered in design flow.
5. Suction lines of pump stations require a compound gauge even though it is unlikely that this
pump station would experience a negative pressure on the suction line. Suction lines to
each pump include a compound gauge and low pressure switch. See Section B on TV2
and detail 11 on TV6.
6. Please confirm how standby power will be provided. It is my understanding that this pump
station and the 6800 pump station are redundancies for each other, so this may be
unnecessary to have in order to ensure con nuous service. A Manual Transfer Switch is included
as depicted on E202 bo om le of the building.
Let me know of any other questions.
Steve
