Tom Ward Sandy City Water System 10000 S. Centennial Parkway Sandy, UT 84070
Subject: Notice of Source Reactivation, Increased Monitoring Requirements for Sandy City, UTAH18028
Tom Ward: According to the Division of Drinking Water’s (the Division) records, Sandy City recently reactivated the Brandon Park Well (WS031) and the Brandon Park Well Fluoridator (TP031). This changes the monitoring requirements for this system.
During the reactivation sampling on October 14, 2024, Uranium was detected at 35 µg/L, which is above the Uranium Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) of 30 μg/L. In accordance with R309-205-7, compliance with Uranium MCL is based on a running annual average of the total amount of samples collected. Quarterly radionuclide samples are now required from the Brandon
Park Well (WS031) each quarter that it supplies water to the drinking water system. The monitoring requirements for this source are given below. An updated monitoring schedule can be viewed any time at waterlink.utah.gov under the Water Monitoring section.
