VCP/Brownfields Section - Site Visit Report

SITE NAME: Airport West / North Temple Landfill

SITE LOCATION: Salt Lake City

DATE OF SITE VISIT: 5 December 2024

PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: DERR (David Bird) oversight of field activities at the Airport West VCP site.

FIELD OBSERVATIONS: The DERR met SITLA’s contractor, NT Development (Eric Rice), Stantec (David
Cline), and concrete crushing subcontractor (Staker Parsons) at the site (at ~9:00 am) to discuss the
startup of crushing and processing of concrete to commence soon in the southwest portion of the site.
NT Development indicated that the permit with DAQ is now in place, and they will forward a copy of it
to me. We discussed the need for a certified ACM inspector to examine the windrows of concrete which
will be placed approximately 18 to 24 inches in height with a final inspection of the stockpile before
being loaded into the crusher. We discussed the need for dust control with a water truck, and how
misting is preferred rather than application of water that can produce mud and puddles. The expected
timeframe for the crushing of the concrete is 3 to 4 months. The DERR left the site at ~10:00 am.
