Dear Mr. Anderson: The Utah Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control is reviewingyour letter (CD-2024-110) concerning returning Compliance Monitoring Well GW-77 to a normal compliance sampling schedule. In a Division’sletter dated May 25, 2006, titled “Permit Renewal Review - Request for Additional Information”, the Division of Radiation Control required a formula be used to determine sum of radium, to account for the error terms of each individual value, the summation should be determined using the formula: Where: Sr is the sum of radiumR226 is the reported value of Ra-226R228 is the reported value of Ra-228X1 is the Ra-226 error termX2 is the Ra-228 error term The submitted letter does not use this equation for Sum of Radium, please explain why?
