FIELD OBSERVATIONS: The DERR visited the Ski Rail VCP site at ~10:30 am on 13 November to meet with Stantec personnel and observe conditions at the site. The DERR met with Stantec (John Russell) and discussed features of the site layout and locations of planned samples to be collected under the accepted Site Characterization Work Plan (SCWP). The DERR left the site at ~12:50 pm, and then proceeded to the area south and southeast of the site where there was reportedly an old landfill. We looked at this area for its potential to affect the groundwater and soil at the site. The DERR also visited the Ski Rail site at ~9:55 am on 14 November, and observed collection of a soil gas sample at location B-9/SG. The DERR discussed with Stantec (Casey Hooten) methods to evacuate atmospheric air from the tubing before connecting the 1-liter bottle at vacuum to the geoprobe point in the subsurface for the sample. The soil gas sample at B-6 was collected with the procedures discussed. We also discussed what procedures would be used to evacuate the lines for the upcoming sub-slab samples to be collected within the two buildings on-site. The DERR left the site at ~11:10 am. The DERR visited the Ski Rail site at ~9:14 am on 21 November, and observed Stantec preparing to collect a groundwater sample at MW-1 the following day. The DERR then went inside the laundry building to observe sample collection at SubS-1 and SubS-2. 6-liter Summa Canisters were used for these sub-slab soil gas samples. The DERR let the site at ~11:02 am. SPLIT SAMPLES COLLECTED: No IS THE WORK BEING PERFORMED IN A MANNER CONSISTENT WITH THE ACCEPTED WORKPLAN? Yes Collection of SubS-1 soil gas sample inside the laundry building.
