RE:Response to EnergySolutions’ June 24, 2024 Compliance Well P3-95 SWC Tracer Dye Test Email, Ground Water Quality Discharge Permit Number UGW450005 (GWQDP)
Dear Mr. Anderson:
Via email on June 24, 2024 EnergySolutions suggested February or March 2025 as a tentative timeframe to complete tracer dye testing for Compliance Well P3-95 SWC as discussed in the
October 9, 2023 Corrective Action Plan for Groundwater Compliance Well P3-95 SWC – Revision Six (DRC-2023-073980). As the history of Uranium exceedance at P3-95 SWC appears to occur
during this period, which generally has wetter conditions, the Division approves this proposal. While conducting the tracer dye test is dependent on precipitation at the Site, the tracer
dye test should begin no later than April 30th, 2025.
As a reminder, the Division has not yet received a work plan for the execution of the tracer dye test. Please submit a detailed work plan including these tentative dates, plans for application,
plans for observation, and a copy of the BrightDyes® manufacturer instructions for Division review.
If you have any questions, please callBailey Andersonat (385) 460-6130.
Sincerely,
Douglas J. Hansen, Director
Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control
