SITE NAME: Sommers Auto Wrecking
SITE LOCATION: 647 WEST 3300 SOUTH, South Salt Lake, Utah
DATE OF SITE VISIT: 09, August, 2024
PURPOSE OF SITE VISIT: DERR (Lincoln Grevengoed) visited to observe ongoing remedial work and to
possibly collect split samples.
FIELD OBSERVATIONS: The DERR arrived at the Site to see the ongoing removal of soil from the Exc-4
location. A distinct petroleum smell was observed emenating from the pit. The pit had filled with water
which exhibited oil sheens. The trucks that the DERR observed bringing soil off the site were each covered
with a tarp. Dust was frequently observed at the Site. A truck with a water tank was observed periodically
wetting the truck path. Dust was primarily from the trucks driving over dry soil. The soil being excavated
was saturated and did not appear to be a source of dust. The DERR did not observe visible dust leaving
the Site. There did not appear to be significant track out from the trucks removing the soil.
SPLIT SAMPLES COLLECTED: No
