Paul Wright" <pwright@utah.gov> Cc: "tony@wcwcd.gov" <tony@wcwcd.gov>, Apple Valley Mayor <mayor@applevalleyut.gov> Paul, thanks for the quick turnaround time. Here is a response to each of the comments. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks, -Nate 1) As I mentioned on Friday Nov 1, 2024, the pipeline portion of this project looks good from a design perspective. So work should be able to continue forward with installation of the pipe. Final plan approval for Phase II, including the pipeline portion will be included in one letter with the pump station. Pump Station Comments 2) There are four pumps on the pump skid in the pump station. What is the horsepower rating, head rating, pump type and pump capacity (gpm) of each pump? How many will be used to obtain the 250 gpm station capacity? (It said this is found in the specifications, but none were submitted with the plans) Paul, see the attached pump skid packet for the building. The pumps are designed to have three working and one spare at the maximum flow rate. 3)There needs to be a standard pressure gauge on the discharge side of the pumps and a compound gauge (measuring both positive and negative pressures) on the suction side of the pumps. This needs to be shown in the details or in your specs for the pump supplier. Paul, please see the pressure gauges located on the pump skid in the pump skid packet. 4) Is there backup power provided at the pump station? Since this will technically become the sole source of clean drinking water for Cedar Point, I am just wondering if this is part of the project. Paul, we do have a backup generator that is called out on E301. 5) I could not find a site plan or other type of detail showing grading around the pump station. You just need to ensure that all surrounding ground is graded to drain away from the pump station. Paul, we have a surface for the grading of the pad, I did not include the surface contours for the pump station building. I will add the contours and get it back to you. 11/5/24, 4:15 PM State of Utah Mail - Apple Valley Pipeline Phase II - Review Comments (file #17498, System #27069) https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=f3bcb897f8&view=pt&search=all&permmsgid=msg-f:1814925153323682584&simpl=msg-f:1814925153323682584 1/2 6) It appears you are planning space for future chlorination. However, it does not appear to meet the requirements for gas chlorination, since it does not have a separate room/closet with all of the ventilation requirements. You will be limited to liquid types of chlorine (ie, tablet, sodium hypochlorite...) and I just want to make sure that is what you are thinking. Paul, we don’t know if this will ever be used for treatment; however, we have planned this site to have sodium hypochlorite if they do need to chlorinate at some point in the future.
