Howard Director September 1, 2020 Kathy Weinel, Quality Assurance Manager Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. 225 Union Blvd., Suite 600 Lakewood, CO 80228 RE: Energy Fuels Resources, White Mesa Uranium Mill, August 27, 2020 Request for an Extension of Time to Submit the Groundwater Background Report for Monitoring Wells MW-38, MW-39, and MW-40, Utah Groundwater Discharge Permit No. UGW370004 Dear Ms. Weinel: The Division of Waste Management and Radiation Control (DWMRC) has completed review of the Energy Fuels Resources (USA) Inc. (EFR) August 27, 2020 letter requesting an extension of 90 days to submit the Groundwater Background Report for monitoring wells MW-38, MW-39 and MW-40 at the White Mesa Uranium Mill. Submission of the Background Report is required by Section I.H.3.c of the Groundwater Discharge Permit. Per the letter, an additional 90 days is needed to collect additional data for wells MW-39 and MW-40 to provide statistically valid data sets for listed constituents. The letter request that the due date for the Background Report be extended until January 8, 2021. Based on review, the extension request is approved. Please submit the MW-38, MW-39, MW-40 Groundwater Background Report on or before January 8, 2021. If you have any questions, please call Tom Rushing at (801) 536-0080.
