Re: State of Utah Ground Water Discharge Permit No. UGW370004
White Mesa Uranium Miil - Removal of Certain Groundwater Monitoring
Parameters from Accelerated Monitoring Status
Dear IVir. Lundberg:
A number of groundwater monitoring constituents have been placed on accelerated monitoring
status under Part I.G.I of the Denison Mines (USA) Corp. Ground Water Discharge Permit No.
UGW370004 ("GWDP"). Part LG.1 provides that such accelerated monitoring shall continue
until compliance status of the facility can be determined by the Executive Secretary.
Based on the accelerated monitoring results to date, Denison requests the Executive Secretary
make a determination that accelerated monitoring cease at this time for Gross Alpha minus Rn
and U ("Gross Alpha") in MW-26 for the following reason: MW-26 Gross Alpha results have
been below the Groundwater Compliance Limit ("GWCL") for eight months since the start of
accelerated monitoring in the first quarter 2011. Per the UDEQ letter of May 30, 2006, eight
consecutive sample results below the GWCL are needed for the discontinuance of accelerated
monitoring.
Once removed from accelerated monitoring status, this constituent, like all other constituents,
would be subject to future accelerated monitoring under Part I.G.1 of the GWDP, should
circumstances warrant.
To assist in your evaluation of the foregoing, we have included a summary of the accelerated
sampling results since the initial sample result that triggered accelerated monitoring.

The analytical laboratory reports for the foregoing results up to and including June 2011 are
included in the Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring Reports for the fourth quarter 2010, first
quarter 2011 and the second quarter 2011, all of which have been provided to you. Copies of
the analytical laboratory reports for the results for July through September 2011 will be provided
in the upcoming Third Quarter 2011 Groundwater Monitoring Report. It is important to note that
the third quarter monitoring results included with this letter have been evaluated per the Denison
QAP and the GWDP and all field and laboratory quality control parameters are acceptable. The
evaluations of the third quarter data will be included in the Third Quarter 2010 Groundwater
Monitoring Report, due December 1, 2011.
Denison believes we have met the requirements in Part I.G.1 of the GWDP for removal of Gross
Alpha from accelerated monitoring and requests that the Executive Secretary confirm this
determination.
If you have any questions or require any further information, please contact the undersigned.

y
